gymNation Confirms Move Plans

The currently occupied gymNation building at One Colonel Gelardi Drive in Kennebunk is owned by the Kennebunk Sewer Dept. and will be taken down later this year. Knowing the fate of this building, the gymNation ownership team was originally planning to build a new facility in Kennebunk. However, after months of delays and significant obstacles, they have put those plans aside for now.

For the past several months, the gymNation staff has been working diligently on a plan for a suitable replacement space to house all of its programs. Recently the executive team has confirmed a workable plan that will go into effect March 20th for the educational programs and March 31, 2017 for the gymnastics programs. While the new plan will require two separate facilities, we are confident this is the best option for the future of gymNation.

The educational programs which include Nursery School, After School Programs, Camps and Taekwondo classes will be housed at the Kennebunk Elementary School while the Coaching staff and Gymnastics Programs will be relocated to the OA Center in Saco, just off of exit 36. This space in Saco will be undergoing construction and renovation to provide a gymnastics-specific training space in the near future.

OA Sports Center Large

The OA Center houses other sport activities, as well as orthopedic and physical therapy services. There is a large common area for parents and siblings to relax and a new restaurant is on the way. Overall, gymNation is very optimistic about its future at the OA Center.

gymNation is grateful for a supportive community that has been understanding of this complicated process of planning such a significant transition. The commitment to the students, staff and parents is as strong as it has ever been and the team welcomes any feedback.
